Maintenance Equipment Simplification

• TechSAT’s «bring your own PC host» approach allows any Windows PC (ruggedized specialty PC, low-cost laptop, or Windows tablet) to be the basis for a sophisticated portable data loader. If existing PC devices are already in use on the flightline or in the hangar for airline maintenance purposes (as terminals for illustrated parts catalogs, electronic AMMs, or supporting virtual test equipment like bus analyzers or fault readers), these same PCs can do double duty as the host, user interface terminal, and storage repository function for the TechSAT Mk.III Portable Data Loader solution. Or with selection of an appropriate PC host, this same alternate maintenance functionality can be added to the same COTS platform supporting the data loader.
  

Maintenance Equipment Cost Reduction

• COTS PC hosting of avionics maintenance equipment is a less expensive option than traditional dedicated Ground Support Equipment (GSE) designs where typically one test set performs only one test function. GSE hosted on COTS PCs can be managed, updated, or repaired by the airline, at the airline – eliminating expensive travel out of system and lost use time while sending units back to the supplier for servicing or modification. Modularity and repairability of the TechSAT system keep Mk.III PDLs hard at work doing the job they are intended to do.  
  

Obsolescence Avoidance

• COTS PC hosts replacement cycles can be managed effectively. Customer supplied PC hosts supporting TechSAT ARINC 615/615A data loading applications can be replaced with newer PC hosts/form factors when most cost beneficial. The Mk.III hardware is easily transferred to the new host. The modular design of TechSAT PDLs allows for update or complete PC host upgrade in the airlines’ own facilities. This assures lowest costs and maximum readiness of the TechSAT data loaders.
  

Operational Flexibility Over Time

• When combined with the power of the “FLS management systems” electronic distribution system, TechSAT’s “Bring Your Own PC Host” concept provides the greatest flexibility in upgrade, repair, re-hosting, and replacement to meet changing current and future fleet maintenance requirements.
