  • Windows XP or realtime Linux OS

Overview

cADS is a compact and highly fl exible system for integration, production and maintenance testing of avionics equipment. Based on industry standard PCI backplane technology, cADS offers a broad variety of „plug and play“ interfaces. The operating system supporting the ADS2 simulation and test software can either be Windows or realtime Linux. The ruggedized design of cADS uses robust industry standard connectors (e.g. D-Sub, RJ45, etc.) to connect to the Unit Under Test (UUT).

Architecture

cADS basically consists of an industry standard PCI backplane with a slot CPU, PCI carrier boards and interface modules. All these components are housed in a 19” rack mount chassis. A modular output panel on the rear side of the chassis contains the standard industry connectors for the installed interfaces.

Feature Highlights

cADS runs the same ADS2 realtime software used for the TechSAT System Integration Benches (SIBs). Therefore it offers the same user interface and supports the same avionics interfaces. Furthermore, the ADS2 platform enables the user to run the same add-ons such as the Test Process Management tool suite (TPM), avionics protocol simulations (CMS, CIDS etc.) and bus analyzers.

This combination of ADS2 software and a COTS ruggedized hardware platform ensures a favorable cost/performance ratio.

Application Scope

Combining configurable hardware and ADS2 as simulation and test software, cADS constitutes a single test system ideally suited for rapid prototyping, hardware-in-the-loop testing, man-in-the-loop testing and data acquisition and analysis.
