STTE/AGE

What is STTE?

STTE stands for Special-to-Type Test Equipment. This term characterizes test systems that are designed and built according to detailed customer specifications. Typical requirements that STTE systems often need to fulfill are:

  • Harsh environmental conditions regarding temperature, humidity, shock, etc. including certification
  • Standard or even extended EMC conditions plus certification
  • Certification according to AGE (Aircraft Ground Equipment) requirements
  • Compact design (high packaging)
  • Execution of approved standard tests

STTE systems are usually employed in production and maintenance. This distinguishes them from system rigs or system integration benches, which are predominantly used during development and integration.

STTE Systems from TechSAT

Based on the standard ADS2 (Avionics Development System 2nd generation) software, TechSAT plans, designs, develops, manufactures, tests and delivers STTEs tailored to customer specifications defining the required functions, environmental conditions, qualifications and documentation.

Utilizing our own or third-party COTS products where possible, we have the proper resources in all engineering fields to adapt, complete and integrate COTS items, or if necessary develop and integrate new components including software add-ons.
STTEs are typically high performance systems or devices in a highly packaged design meeting requirements beyond standard approaches.
In the majority of cases STTEs are deployed for standard test executions. However, STTEs may also comprise features to control peripheral equipment such as ovens or shakers.
