Application Scope

The TechSAT DevStation™ (Development Station) is a PC-based desktop data loading station for development, testing and loading of ARINC 615A target hardware LRUs. It comes complete with an extensive ARINC 665 ToolSet™ utility for creation, formatting and testing and inspection of ARINC 665 media sets from user raw software payloads.

The DevStation is supplied with all required utilities to provide a complete development capability for 615A LRU development, 615A load testing and device data loading. The two main utilities are:

  • ARINC 615A NetLoader™
  • ARINC 665 / ARINC 615A Media ToolSet™

The DevStation™ is supplied fully integrated with NetLoader™, TechSAT’s ARINC 615A versatile data loading utility chosen by many OEMs for both off and on-aircraft data loading support requirements. Robust and versatile, the 615A data loading engine of NetLoader™ is used in the Boeing Electronic Flight Bag, the first 615A LRU to fly on a Boeing airframe. NetLoader™ is fully compliant to all aspects of 615A –1/-2 and is backwards compatible to all earlier 615A versions.

The NetLoader™ utility provides the following features and benefits:

ARINC 665 ToolSet™ – Media Creation & Inspection Toolkit for ARINC 665 Media
TechSAT’s ARINC 665 ToolSet is a complete ARINC 665 media tool kit. ARINC 665 media can be created, inspected and managed for distribution using the included MediaCreator and MediaInspector utilities.

ARINC 665 MediaCreator

  • ARINC 665-1, -2 media creation utility
  • Create ARINC 665 compliant media sets from raw files
  • Package databases and user supplied aircraft modifiable software
  • Supports development and manufacturing requirements
  • Allows airlines to create ARINC 665 format Airline Modifiable Information (AMI)



ARINC 665 MediaInspector

  • ARINC 665-1, -2 inspection utility
  • Inspect and troubleshoot ARINC 665 media sets
  • Perform Quality Assurance functions on produced media sets
  • Inspect media sets received from other sources
  • Troubleshoot media to trace loading problems

 

DevStation™ PC Hardware

  • PC Based Development Station; 1.3GHz processor, 512 RAM, 60 G-Byte hard drive (or better)
  • Micro Tower (Full Height PCI Card; -001) or Micro ATX Tower (half height PCI Card; -002) form factor versions available. The Micro ATX can be used in tower or desktop form.
  • Floppy disk drive/CD ROM/Writer standard; DVD Writer optional
  • RJ45 Ethernet Output; ARINC 664 compliant ARINC 615A 53 pin output connector/cable optional
  • DevStation™ can be used as a fully functional PC for other lab/manufacturing PC requirements

 

Data Acquisition

  • ARINC 615A SimLRU™, an ARINC 615A LRU target hardware simulator for testing and development
  • Configurable Data Loading Engine (CDLE™) Development Station, a complete LRU development station simulation for precision modeling of target hardware LRU implementations of 615A; media manager and parts installer functionality included.
  • Configurable Data Loading Engine (CDLE) plug in, for adding 615A data loading to avionics operating systems in LRUs/LRMs

TechSATcan supply a full ARINC 615-3/-4 data loading kit that converts the DevStation™ to a complete loading station for both traditional (ARINC 429 based) and Ethernet based data loading.

  • ARINC 615-3/-4 SpeedLoader™ data loading hardware/software kit creates a dual 615A/615-3 (ARINC 429 based) data loading station
  • ARINC 429 Bus Analyzer
  • ARINC 615A/615-3/-4 53 pin data loading cable per ARINC 664 and 615-3/-4
  • An additional AFDX® resource (PCI-card) allows ARINC 615A dataloading via AFDX® (Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet - Airbus A380/Airbus A400M)
